In the ongoing action of the One Guyana Premier Basketball League organized by the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association, Kwakwani Untouchables, Republic Bank Nets, and Pacesetters secured wins on Sunday.
Republic Bank Nets delivered an impressive performance, dominating Pepsi Sonics at the National Gymnasium hard court. Leading 16-12 at the end of the first period, they extended their lead to 40-23 by halftime. Travis Stewart led all scorers with 21 points, supported by Shaquille Prescott’s 12 points, securing a comfortable 72-47 victory.
Kwakwani Untouchables, with the return of Stanton Rose, triumphed over Ravens with a final score of 67-60. Starting strong, Kwakwani led 21-19 in the opening period. Domair Gladstone delivered a standout performance with a game-high 23 points. Despite Ravens’ efforts, Kwakwani maintained the lead, finishing the third quarter 51-41. Although Ravens outscored Untouchables 19-16 in the final quarter, it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
Pacesetters secured a 57-44 victory against Mambas, with Zion Gray contributing 19 points to their success.
The competition continues every Saturday at the National Gymnasium hard court.
