The Regal Stationery Vice President’s T20 Softball Cup has officially launched with exciting plans for a unification tournament scheduled for 2025.
The upcoming event will bring together teams from three major softball cricket championships—the Prime Minister’s, President’s Cup, and Vice President’s tournaments.
This year’s tournament will take place from November 7 to 10, with matches hosted at the Police Sports Club in Eve Leary.
Over $3 million in prize money is up for grabs, showcasing the importance of such events in promoting sports within the community.
At the launch event, Vice-President Dr. Bharat Jagdeo highlighted the significant contributions that sporting events like the Vice President’s T20 Softball Cup make to communities across the country.
The tournament serves as an essential platform for local talent and further strengthens the growing popularity of softball cricket.
In addition to the main tournament, next year’s unification event aims to elevate the competition by combining teams from various championships.
This will create a larger, more competitive field and provide more opportunities for players and fans alike.
Prize distribution for this year’s tournament will include $500,000 for the top open team, while the Legends (Over-50) and Masters (Over-40) categories will each award $200,000.
The women’s category will compete for a $300,000 prize, with additional incentives, such as motorcycles, given to the three category MVPs.
Regal Stationery & Computer Centre has signed on as the title sponsor for this year’s event.
The company’s teams are the defending champions in the open, ladies, and masters categories.
Other notable sponsors include Rajiv Ghandi University and Trophy Stall.
The tournament continues to be a key event on the local sports calendar, with plans for next year’s unification tournament further boosting its profile and impact on the community.
