Unicomer Partners with GPF and GNRSC to Enhance Road Safety

By Delicia Janneire

Corporate giant Unicomer has joined forces with the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) in a concerted effort to address road safety concerns in the country.

In a recent collaboration, Unicomer donated 20 full-face ‘True Rider’ helmets and one AKT motorbike to the Traffic Department of the Police Force.

This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to promote road safety, particularly in response to Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn’s call for increased corporate involvement in ensuring safer roadways.

Minister Benn underscored the importance of corporate sponsorship in advancing the overarching goal of national development.

The partnership with Unicomer was met with appreciation by Traffic Chief Mahendra Singh, who lauded Unicomer’s longstanding support for the Police Force.

Singh emphasized the significance of the donated helmets for motorcyclists, stressing the importance of their effective use for safety rather than mere decoration.

Chairman of the Guyana National Road Safety Council, Earl Lambert, also expressed gratitude for the support received, highlighting the critical role of such partnerships in bolstering road safety initiatives nationwide.

Meanwhile, Courts, a subsidiary of Unicomer, reiterated its commitment to promoting road safety culture by providing free helmets with every purchase of a motorbike or scooter, along with an option for a second helmet at a reduced cost.

Through collaborative efforts between corporate entities like Unicomer, law enforcement agencies, and road safety councils, Guyana aims to enhance road safety awareness and reduce accidents on its roadways.
