A total of 25 females and one male from Mainstay Whayaka, Region Two, have successfully completed the Ministry of Human Services’ WINN (Women’s Innovation and Nurturing Network) Programme, gaining certification in Garment Construction and Business Management.

The group underwent a comprehensive 12-day training that covered essential skills such as the fundamentals of marketing, business principles, and the step-by-step process of garment creation, including cutting, aligning, stitching, and assembling.

Participants expressed their pride in the skills they had acquired and shared words of encouragement for fellow graduates.

Sarah Adams, one of the graduates, shared her pride in wearing a garment she had sewn herself, encouraging her peers to never give up in life.

Leshann Inniss reflected on her initial lack of sewing knowledge and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to display her self-made garment.

Tamala Williams urged the graduates to apply their newfound skills for positive change in their village and region, emphasizing the value of the training.

Since its inception, the WINN Programme has had a significant impact, benefiting over 8,000 women by providing vital training and empowerment.

This year, the programme was extended to include men, demonstrating its broadening scope and inclusive approach.

The WINN Programme continues to provide opportunities that enhance the lives and skills of individuals, fostering entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency within communities.
