The Education Management Information System (EMIS) software has been launched with the aim of revolutionizing education delivery in Guyana.
This software is designed to enhance information sharing and streamline operations in schools, making education more efficient and effective.
EMIS will provide education officers with real-time access to comprehensive information about each school in the system.
It includes functionalities for managing enrollment data, processing transfer requests, recording attendance, managing grades, end-of-year processing, class portals, teacher web pages, parent portals, teacher information, and timetables.
Hon. Priya Manickchand, the Minister of Education, expressed her anticipation for the effective implementation of the system, highlighting its potential impact on education in the country.
According to Chief Planning Officer Nicola Johnson, the introduction of EMIS will empower educators to make informed decisions based on evidence. The system will enable them to better understand and address the needs of the education system.
Currently, a total of 1,573 educational institutions, encompassing both public and private schools, are registered on the EMIS platform.
