Traffic Advisory: Road Works Along Rupert Craig Highway

The maintenance works along the Rupert Craig Highway are being done

Road maintenance activities are currently underway along the Rupert Craig Highway, specifically from the COVID hospital to the University of Guyana entrance.

Commuters are advised to take note of the ongoing road works and plan their routes accordingly.

The maintenance operations are scheduled between 10 am and 3 pm, strategically avoiding the morning and afternoon rush hours to minimize disruptions to traffic flow.

The initiative is part of efforts to enhance and repair the road infrastructure in the specified area.

Hon. Deodat Indar, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, provided details on the ongoing road works.

The Special Projects Unit of the ministry is actively involved in repaving sections of the highway.

The goal is to complete the repairs by 3 pm, ensuring minimal impact on afternoon traffic.

The road maintenance activities are expected to continue daily until Friday, February 2.

The scope of the work will extend to various parts of the vicinity, including the University road.

During this period, the Railway Embankment will need to utilize its main access road.

The ministry is closely monitoring weather conditions and has deployed resources, including 16 trucks bringing asphalt, to expedite the repaving process.

Commuters are urged to exercise caution, follow traffic guidelines, and consider alternative routes when necessary during the ongoing road maintenance period.
