Tradewinds Medical Outreach Provides Free Healthcare to Region Six Citizens

Joint initiative by the Ministry of Health and Guyana Defence Force strengthens regional security cooperation

The ongoing Exercise Tradewinds has launched a significant humanitarian medical outreach in Region Six, facilitated by the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Health and the Guyana Defence Force.

Citizens in Skeldon and surrounding communities are benefiting from this outreach, as it offers free outpatient services to the public.

Under the leadership of the Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, a dedicated field hospital has been established to deliver various essential medical services to the residents. These services include clinical reviews, laboratory testing, vaccinations, eye care, and skin care, among others. The medical personnel on-site will continue to provide these services until the outreach concludes at the end of next week.

The field hospital boasts a comprehensive range of services, with the exception of surgeries, covering general clinics and specialized eye care services.

This exercise will be conducted with the participation of 68 individuals and is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the national oil spill contingency plan.

The Exercise Tradewinds serves as an essential platform to fortify regional security cooperation and emphasizes Guyana’s commitment to the health and well-being of its citizens.
