The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security is taking a firm stance against domestic violence, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach through its Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Policy Unit.

Dr. Cona Husbands, the unit’s manager, underscored this commitment during a Sexual Awareness Month event in Linden, as reported by Jacquey Bourne.

At an awareness session held at the Linden/Georgetown Bus Park, the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Policy Unit engaged the public, shedding light on sexual abuse and outlining the various services offered by the Ministry.

Dr. Husbands emphasized the unit’s significance within the Ministry, highlighting its zero-tolerance stance towards domestic violence.

She stressed the importance of reaching out to those in need, ensuring they receive the necessary support and assistance.

Furthermore, Dr. Husbands discussed the different forms of gender-based abuse, addressing the complexities and nuances of gender-based violence.
