GEORGETOWN, GUYANA – The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce has officially launched its annual Mashramani band under the theme “Keeping Culture Alive in 2025.”
This year’s band, featuring 120 participants from the ministry and its affiliated agencies, showcases costumes designed to reflect Guyana’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and national identity.
The designs highlight the country’s lush rainforests, diverse flora and fauna, and abundant natural resources while celebrating the traditions that define the Guyanese people.
Costume designer Maxi Williams offered a glimpse of the elaborate creations set to hit the streets on Republic Day, emphasizing the vibrant colors and imagery inspired by Guyana’s status as a premier tourism destination.
Adding to the spectacle, choreographer Kevon Carter has brought together a diverse group of dancers spanning various age groups and backgrounds.
The performance is set to embody cultural unity and national pride, reinforcing the spirit of One Guyana.
With the grand celebration of Mashramani fast approaching, the ministry promises an unforgettable display of creativity, culture, and national pride.
