In a display of exceptional strength and skill, top powerlifters including Nangita Seenarine, Romeo Hunter, Saif Abdool, Fazim Abdool, and Yogaishawar Secharan dominated their respective weight categories during the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation’s Senior Nationals Championship.

Nangita Seenarine:

  • Category: 52kg Women’s Junior EQ
  • Achievements:
    • Squat: 125.0kg
    • Bench-press: 52.5kg
    • Deadlift: 132.5kg
    • Grand Total: 310.0kg
  • Records: Shattered eight records in the women junior equipped and open category.

Nangita Seenarine emerged as the top female lifter, leading among her counterparts after achieving remarkable results in squat, bench press, and deadlift.

  • Records: Broke the men’s 120 kg men master 1 equipped and open record.

Romeo Hunter:

  • Category: 83kg Men’s Sb-Jr Raw
  • Achievements: Set five new records in squat, bench press, and total.
  • Records: New marks in squat (272.5 kg), bench press (175 kg), and total (667.5) in the sub-junior raw class.

Yogaishawar Seecharan:

  • Category: 120+kg Men’s Junior and Men’s Open Raw
  • Achievements: Set a new record in the men’s junior raw bench press, squat, and total.

Saif Abdool:

  • Category: 93kg Men’s Sb-Jr EQ
  • Achievements: Set new record marks in squat (210.0kg), bench press (120.0kg), deadlift (210.0kg), and total (540.0kg).
