The ‘Adopt-an-Orphanage’ project, spearheaded by First Lady Arya Ali, has officially entered its third phase.

A ceremony at the State House today marked this significant milestone, with several corporate sponsors and diplomatic missions pledging their support for the initiative.

Described as a movement driven by love and compassion, the third phase of the Adopt-an-Orphanage project aims to continue its vital support for children in orphanages across the country.

The initiative will cover children’s expenses, offer access to medical and mental health services, and provide opportunities for recreational activities.

First Lady Arya Ali emphasized the importance of corporate Guyana’s involvement, noting that their generosity will help create a lasting impact on the lives of the children.

She expressed hope that the continued support will write a story of resilience and love for each child.

Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Guo Haiyan, also expressed her enthusiasm for participating in the project.

She underscored the significance of collective action and persistence in making a difference, hoping that more attention will be given to the needs and rights of orphaned children.

Among the contributors to this phase are Demerara Bank Limited, Jades Supermarket, Comfort Sleep, Optic Vision Care, Amazonia Mall, and the embassies of China and Mexico.

Each sponsor has signed a memorandum of understanding committing to support the orphanages financially for the next 12 months.
