“The Virus that Changed the World”- by Guyanese Wendy Jackson

In an effort to educate the younger generation about the disease that affected all of humanity from early 2020 until 2023, US-based Guyanese, Wendy Walker Jackson has written a book from her perspective of the pandemic.

Author, Wendy Walker

The Virus that Changed the World is a book written in an illustrated and poetic way, about a significant story that became an important memory in the mind of all human beings- the period of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Jackson, a teacher by profession, told NCN NEWS that the reason for writing this book was because she wanted to capture the feelings that she and everyone else lived for 3 years.

The book is also expected to give the necessary information to children who may not yet understand the pandemic.

“This book brings everything together of Covid in a short space of time, in a manner that is easily digested by the reader and it will help the reader to understand the importance of taking care of the body and health matters like it says in the book. Different vitamins were discussed and the nutrients that you need for your body and you will understand how to care yourself for any possible illness,” she explained.

The Virus that Changed the World was published on March 13 and anyone who is interested in reading the book can get it at the National Library or buy it on Amazon for US$15.

To also be inclusive, Walker disclosed that a Spanish version of the book is available. There are plans to translate it into other languages soon.
