In a swift response to the concerns raised by citizens in the South Ruimveldt Park area about severely damaged roads, the Ministry of Public Works, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing, has initiated remedial works on Aubrey Barker Road.

Less than 24 hours after citizens reported the damages, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Housing, in collaboration, took action to address the issue caused by heavy-laden trucks in the area.

Shawn Benn, a resident, commended the Minister for Infrastructure, stating that the President instructed him to assess the situation and he responded swiftly.

Benn expressed appreciation for the effective and prompt action taken.

Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, mentioned that engineering teams from both ministries have assessed the damages and commenced remedial works.

Public Works is handling one section in the front, addressing a significant failure next to a container, while Housing has a contractor mobilized for another 200 meters down the road.

Indar emphasized the collaboration between the two ministries and mentioned that routine checks will be conducted to monitor the progress of the remedial work.

The goal is to ensure a quick turnaround for the repairs.
