As the Guyana-China Friendship Park nears its official opening, safety and cleanliness are top priorities says Protected Areas Commission (PAC) Chairman Robert Persaud.

In an interview with NCN News, Robert Persaud says the new Guyana-China Friendship Park will have strict security and waste management systems in place.

Enhanced security measures, including surveillance cameras and on-site guards, will help ensure the safety of visitors.

A structured waste management plan has also been established to keep the facility clean and well maintained.

Persaud says the public can expect a modern, safe, and welcoming recreational space when the park officially opens.

“They are already receptacles or bins placed. Within 100 meters so no one can complain that there is no receptacles for persons to go and put their garbage. We will have security because we want persons to be safe within this environment,” he said.

Robert Persaud emphasised that the Guyana-China Friendship Park will enforce a zero-tolerance policy for disorderly or inappropriate behavior.

He says the measure is part of efforts to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for families and visitors.

“So persons are not going to be allowed in here to indulge in activities which will impinge on family oriented and safe activities too, we will involve the Guyana Police force in terms of working with our team here,” Persaud assured.

Persaud encouraged residents to take pride in the park’s upkeep, as it prepares to open as a free recreational facility.

He noted the park will serve the entire community, with a focus on residents of Region 3, providing a safe and enjoyable space for all.
