President Dr. Irfaan Ali underscored this commitment during a reception commemorating the upcoming Independence Anniversary of the United States at Pegasus Suites.
President Ali highlighted the pivotal role of the United States in Guyana’s development, emphasizing that this longstanding partnership will continue to flourish.
He expressed mutual aspirations to confront transnational challenges, enhance information sharing, and integrate systems to uphold a rule-based society.
In furthering bilateral ties, President Ali expressed his intent to expand cooperation with the US in military, intelligence sharing, and trade domains.
US Ambassador to Guyana, Nicole Theriot, echoed these sentiments, noting the strengthened institutional collaboration, air domain awareness initiatives, and cybersecurity defenses.
She emphasized that law enforcement partnerships have grown significantly and highlighted a substantial increase in bilateral trade, surpassing $4.6 billion last year from a few hundred million previously.
As the United States prepares to celebrate its 248th Independence Anniversary on July 4th, both nations look forward to continuing their robust partnership and fostering deeper ties across various sectors.
