Stefanie Taylor of the Guyana Amazon Warriors expressed herelation after the team secured a crucial victory in this year’s tournament. She described the win as a fantastic feeling, attributing their success to solid cricketing performance.

As the former West Indies women’s captain, Taylor emphasized the positive impact of this victory on the team’s morale.

In the game, Sophie Devine showcased an outstanding all-around performance, contributing significantly with both bat and ball. She delivered an impressive 48 runs off 39 balls at the top of the order. Captain Stefanie Taylor also made a valuable contribution, scoring 32 runs from 29 balls, leading the team to a total of 132 runs.

Anisa Mohamed, with a stellar performance of 4 wickets for 28 runs, and Marie Kelly, who secured 4 wickets for 30 runs, proved to be instrumental in dismissing the opposition’s innings.

Despite a valiant effort led by prolific batter Deandra Dottin, the Trinbago Knight Riders fell short in their pursuit of the target. They managed to score 111 for 9 when their overs expired.

The Guyana Amazon Warrior women’s team will face off against the Trinbago Knight Riders once more in their final group clash, scheduled for Saturday at the same venue.
