Guyana’s aviation sector is on track to return to pre-pandemic levels, according to Public Works Minister Juan Edghill. Both Cheddi Jagan International Airport and Eugene F. Correia International Airport have seen increases in arrivals, departures, and overflights, marking significant recovery in the sector.

Minister Edghill reported that Cheddi Jagan International Airport now handles about 500 arrivals and departures per month, while Eugene F. Correia International Airport sees approximately 4,800 movements monthly.

Additionally, offshore flights contribute significantly to overall aviation activity, with around 600 monthly operations recorded.

The government has also implemented modern upgrades to air traffic management systems and infrastructure at key airports to support the continued growth of the aviation industry.
