Electric vehicle charging stations play a crucial role in mitigating carbon footprints by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles, thus reducing the carbon emissions associated with traditional transportation methods.

Mike Mohan, President of STARR Computer, emphasizes that addressing transportation-related emissions is paramount in combatting climate change and fostering environmental sustainability.

Mohan highlights the significance of reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector, stating, “Transportation is the highest polluter of carbon, and if we can do something about reducing that carbon in the transportation industry, it can make a big difference as we move forward.”

This initiative by STARR Computer seeks to contribute to this crucial goal by providing free electric vehicle charging services to customers.

Acknowledging the supportive stance of the Government of Guyana towards sustainable energy initiatives, Mohan mentions the facilitation of electric vehicle adoption through duty-free and tax-free charging systems.

He emphasizes the importance of educating the public about these government incentives, announcing plans for monthly seminars at STARR Computer to raise awareness and promote the adoption of electric vehicles.

Furthermore, Mohan reveals that STARR Computer is already leading by example in sustainable energy practices, generating 50 percent of its power through solar panels.

By offering free electric vehicle charging, Mohan hopes to not only promote energy efficiency and financial savings but also set a precedent for other businesses to follow suit in embracing sustainable practices.

This initiative by STARR Computer underscores the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and reflects its proactive approach to promoting sustainability within the business community and beyond.
