The Stabroek Eagles soared to a dominant victory over the Leonora D-UP Rising Stars in the Guyana Amateur Basketball Association’s Under-23 Club Championship.

The final score was a lopsided 78-49 in favor of the Eagles.

The Eagles took charge early, establishing a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Their stifling defense held the Rising Stars to just 9 points in the first quarter, while their offense put up 16.

This advantage continued to grow throughout the game.

The second quarter saw more of the same dominance.

The Eagles outscored their opponents 22-12, extending their lead to a commanding 38-21 at halftime.

The Rising Stars struggled to find an answer for the Eagles’ cohesive team play and relentless pressure.

The third quarter offered no respite for the Rising Stars.

The Eagles continued to control both ends of the court, outscoring them 18-10.

While the Rising Stars managed their best scoring output of the game in the third with 18 points, it wasn’t enough to close the significant gap.

The Eagles cruised to victory with a final score of 78-49.

Despite the win, Eagles Captain Alafin Joseph acknowledged areas for improvement.

Meanwhile, D-UP Rising Stars Captain Shaquan Archer admitted his team needs work.

In another matchup, the Bartica Wranglers fell to the Worthmanville/Werk-en-rust Pacesetters by a score of 75-53.

Action in the exciting GABA U23 League continues on Wednesday.
