Stabroek Eagles and Kitty Campbellville Ravens Clash in One Guyana Basketball League Final

On Saturday, March 9, basketball enthusiasts will converge at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue for a highly anticipated showdown between the Stabroek Eagles and the Kitty Campbellville Ravens in the final of the inaugural Amateur One Guyana Basketball League.

The Stabroek Eagles, hailed as the standout team of the league, enter the final with an undefeated record, seeking to clinch the national title.

After dispatching the national champions, Bounty Colts, in a convincing 2-0 series, the Eagles exude confidence.

In their previous encounters, they displayed dominance, outscoring their opponents 73-64 and 74-71 in the first and second games, respectively.

Head Coach Adrian Hooper expresses unwavering confidence in his team’s ability to execute their game plan effectively and emerge victorious.

“Well like I said, we just sticking to the game plan nothing new the other teams will be playing to see who play us in the finals watch what’s going on, go the film room and do what we have to do come and take it one game at a time ” says Hooper. “We stay as a team we come out we execute and all we can do is just win right now.

Meanwhile, the Kitty Campbellville Ravens secured their spot in the final with a hard-fought 2-1 series win against the Kwakwani Untouchables in the Eagles Conference final.

Assistant Coach Marlon Rodriques is optimistic about their chances, emphasizing their preparedness and determination to secure back-to-back defeats for the Eagles.

“We are very prepared for this finals during the week we’ve been making adjustments on our defence and offence respectively, we’re hoping to give them back to back defeats for the first time in this tournament, so come Saturday it’s going to be their first defeat ,” asserts Rodriques.

The final, slated to commence at 21:00hrs, promises to deliver a thrilling contest between two formidable teams.
