The National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue was buzzing with excitement as the Kashif and Shanghai National Futsal Championship continued on Saturday.
Stabroek ‘B’ and Show Stoppers made a strong statement with impressive wins in their respective matches.
Stabroek ‘B’ delivered a stunning 7-0 victory over the West Side Ballers.
Nikolai Andrews was the star of the match, scoring four goals, while Jonathan McKenzie, Randy Maynard, and Jamal Cambridge added to the scoreboard.
Show Stoppers also put on a dominant performance, overwhelming the South Side Ballers.
Delon Lanferman was the standout player, scoring a hat-trick.
Christophe Agustuo and Darnell Sealey managed consolation goals for South Side Ballers, but it was not enough to close the gap.
In other action, Spaniard secured a 4-0 win, with Jason Moore scoring twice, and Randell Parks and Sherwin Caesar each adding a goal.
Buxton triumphed in a thrilling seven-goal game against Linden All Stars, with Clevon Barnwell netting twice and contributions from Akeem Jarvis, Courtney Oden, and an own goal.
Español continued their strong form with a 6-2 win over Broad Street, with Carlos Gil and Joseito scoring twice each.
Darwin and Adrian Martinez sealed the win for Español.
Bent Street ‘A’ edged Region 9 narrowly with an own goal and a strike from Jamanine Beckles proving decisive.
The tournament will continue with six exciting games on Tuesday, and the winner will take home 2 million dollars, along with a trophy and additional prizes.
