The Ministry of Sport has provided uniforms to the top 16 teams competing in the inaugural Kashif & Shanghai One Guyana National Futsal Championship.
The presentation took place as the tournament reached its later stages, with matches now being played at the newly refurbished Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue.
The tournament has seen intense competition, with teams such as North Ruimveldt, Bent Street, Back Circle, Gold is Money, and Stabroek Ballerz securing their spots in the top 16.
The championship, which is sponsored by the Government of Guyana, is scheduled to conclude in the new year.
During the uniform handover ceremony, Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., addressed the players, highlighting the importance of respect in the sport and encouraging players to follow the rules and respect referees’ decisions.
He emphasized that understanding authority is crucial for players looking to progress to higher levels of competition.
The championship is set to continue throughout the holiday season, with the final matches taking place in early 2025.
