Sparta Boss Crowned Inaugural Champions of the K&S One Guyana National Futsal Championship

Sparta Boss Futsal team secured their place in history as the inaugural champions of the Kashif and Shanghai One Guyana National Futsal Championship, dominating the finals in an exciting 8-4 victory over Bent Street ‘A’ early Saturday morning at the Cliff Anderson Sport Hall.

The grand finale, which drew a packed crowd of fans, was an intense spectacle of skill and determination. Sparta Boss, led by Certez Kellman’s hat-trick (scored in the 3rd, 7th, and 19th minutes), took a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half.

Bent Street ‘A’ quickly responded, leveling the score at 3-3 by the 29th minute, with goals from Jermaine Beckles (8th and 25th minutes) and Adrian Aaron (29th minute).

In the second half, Sparta reclaimed their lead with goals from Kelsey Benjamin (35th minute) and Jermaine Junior (37th minute).

Omari Glasgow added another in the 38th minute, and despite Aaron’s consolation goal for Bent Street in the 39th minute, Sparta sealed their victory with additional goals from Glasgow and Darron Niles in the 40th minute.

Earlier in the tournament, the Brazilian team Road Warriors set a new record by scoring 18 goals in a match against Back Circle, with an 18-6 victory— the highest number of goals ever scored in a Futsal match in Guyana.

In the women’s final, Lady Kanaimas emerged victorious, defeating Lady Royals 2-1.

The champions, Sparta Boss, received a cash prize of 2 million Guyanese dollars, while Bent Street ‘A’ took home 1 million dollars. The finals were attended by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, Sports Minister Charles Ramson Jr., and hundreds of Futsal fans.
