In a display of sheer dominance, Spankhurst, representing the Jumbo Jet stable, emerged victorious in the feature race at the recent Mashramani meet organized by the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee (JJTRC).

Held at the Rising Sun Turf Club in West Coast Berbice, the event witnessed Spankhurst’s remarkable triumph, solidifying her position as the top thoroughbred from the previous year.

Facing stiff competition, Spankhurst showcased her exceptional speed and endurance, leaving her competitors trailing behind.

Despite a formidable challenge from Guyana Cup winner Easy Time, ridden by Colin Ross, Spankhurst maintained her lead and crossed the finish line first, clinching the prestigious title sponsored by Jumbo Jet Group.

Rachel, another standout performer, claimed victory in the Sinotruk Handicap I Class, J Class, and West Indian-bred 3-year-old maidens race, demonstrating impressive talent and agility on the track.

In the NM Security Classic, Fire Cracker delivered a stunning performance, galloping to victory over a competitive field of West Indian-bred 4 & 3-year-old horses.

Meanwhile, Glories Business secured the title in the AJM Sprint Classic, showcasing superior speed and determination.

Country Rock emerged as the dominant force in the Z & J Enterprise event for 3-year-old Guyana-bred horses, while Haley clinched victory in the JS Engineering Services and Supplies 110-meter race.

She WBO on Time and Black Time also secured wins in their respective categories, further adding to the excitement of the day’s races.

President of the JJTRC, Travis Spankhurst, expressed delight at the success of the event, praising the exceptional performances of the participating horses and riders.

The Mashramani horse race meeting provided spectators with thrilling competitions and highlighted the talent and dedication within Guyana’s horse racing community.
