Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission, Enrique Monize, says the number of public requests for lands along the Soesdyke, Linden Highway remain the highest that the Commission has received. To date, the Commission has received over 30,000 requests for this particular area.

His made this comment during a keynote address at the closing ceremony of the Sustainable Land Development and Management Project at the Pegasus Suites.
Mr. Monize also mentioned that the area is nearly saturated, meaning that currently there lack of available land to cater to the number of requests but that works are underway to have more land available soon.
He also addressed the issues of squatting and regularization, noting that although the Commission has completed several regularization exercises, squatting remains a persistent challenge.
