With the seventh edition of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League set to kick off in March, Slingerz FC has stepped up its preparations as they aim to reclaim their spot at the top of the league.
During a recent practice session at the GFF National Training Centre, midfielder Curtez Kellman discussed the team’s goals for the upcoming season.
Kellman emphasized the club’s strong desire to become champions, stating: “Our expectation is to become champions.”
This sentiment reflects the determination within the squad to build on last season’s second-place finish.
Despite several new faces in the squad, Slingerz FC has signaled its intent to capture the league title after coming close in recent seasons. The club’s only league trophy came in the 2015/16 season.
Head Coach Jamaal Shabazz, following his appointment, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure the GFF Elite League title, stating: “I am sure we will get the best results.”
The 2025 edition of the GFF Elite League is set to begin on March 9.
