Sixty-five residents from Region Nine have successfully completed various training programs offered by the Board of Industrial Training (BIT).

A graduation ceremony was held at the Business Incubation Centre in Tabatinga, honoring the graduates for their dedication and commitment in finishing their four to six-month courses.

During the training, participants acquired valuable skills in multiple disciplines, including Commercial Food Preparation, Electrical Installation, Small Engine Repairs, Welding and Fabrication, and Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation.

Many graduates expressed how the training has enhanced their skill sets and opened up new opportunities for their futures.

Paulino Jula, a graduate in Small Engine Repair, noted the practical benefits of the training, emphasizing its impact on his ability to work with engines in his community.

Lateisha David, who completed the Welding and Fabrication program, shared her aspirations of starting her own business using the skills she learned.

Corretta Salvadore, who trained in Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation, highlighted the program’s inclusivity, encouraging women to pursue traditionally male-dominated fields.

Similarly, Josepha Hendricks, a graduate in Commercial Food Preparation, expressed excitement about using her newfound skills to create and sell snacks.

Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, addressed the graduates during the ceremony, congratulating them for their achievements.

He emphasized that the skills they acquired will serve them well throughout their lives and encouraged them to continue seeking opportunities for growth and development in their careers.

The ceremony celebrated not only the completion of the training but also the personal growth and empowerment of the graduates, marking an important milestone in their professional journeys.
