Six Christmas Babies Delivered at Georgetown Public Hospital

December 26, 2024

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) welcomed six Christmas babies—three girls and three boys—on Christmas Day, marking a special occasion for the families and staff alike.

The first baby, a girl, was delivered at 1:07 AM via C-section, followed by the second delivery shortly after.

In keeping with her annual tradition, First Lady Arya Ali visited the newborns and their mothers, offering her congratulations and best wishes.

During her visit, the First Lady shared that there were around 64 patients in the ward, with five more deliveries expected throughout the day.

She commended the staff at GPHC for their dedication and hard work on Christmas Day, acknowledging the neonatal care and birthing staff who were present to ensure safe deliveries.

As part of her Christmas outreach, the First Lady also delivered 60 care hampers to GPHC, with 10 hampers each being distributed at the West Demerara and Diamond Hospitals.

She extended her gratitude to Sleepy Products, J’s Outlet, and Twins Pharmaceuticals for their support in sponsoring the Christmas Day care packages.
