President of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Keavon Bess, has announced that the team is entering the final phase of preparations to represent Guyana at the Central America and Caribbean Games in Aruba, scheduled from September 21-25.
Keavon Bess, President of the bodybuilding federation, stated that the teams have escalated their training regimen in anticipation of the upcoming regional competition. The athletes have been diligently focusing on their mental preparedness and are eager to showcase their abilities for career advancement.
From an administrative perspective, Bess emphasized that essential groundwork, including logistics and accommodation arrangements, has been meticulously handled to ensure that the athletes can concentrate solely on their on-stage performance.
The Guyana team, described by Bess as the elite of the sport, will be led by Julio Sinclair, the reigning Central America and Caribbean gold medalist. Providing formidable support is Emmerson Campbell, a leading contender in the CAC men’s physique category, boasting three silver and bronze medals along with six national championships and four stage of champions titles.
Another standout figure is Darious Ramsammy, a two-time reigning Mr. Guyana bodybuilding champion. Ramsammy clinched the overall victory at the stage of champions this year, in addition to securing a silver medal at the Roger Boyce Classic and a gold medal at the Santo Domingo Open.
Nicholas Albert, a silver medalist at CAC 2022 and gold medalist at the Roger Boyce Classic this year, also joins the team. The former national novice champion finished as the runner-up to Ramsammy in both the 2021 and 2022 senior nationals.
Completing the roster is Rawle Greene, a CAC master gold medalist and the WNBF master world champion in 2022.
The women representing Guyana are reigning Ms. Bikini champion Hannah Rampersaud and CAC bikini silver medalist Christina Ramsammy.
