Significant Infrastructure Expansion in Region 10

The pace of development in Region 10 is on the rise, as noted by Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill, during a recent inspection tour of ongoing infrastructure projects in the mining town.

Minister Edghill expressed satisfaction with the progress made and highlighted several key initiatives aimed at enhancing the region’s infrastructure.

As part of the government’s efforts, an additional 143 community roads are scheduled for rehabilitation, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving local accessibility and connectivity.

This initiative builds upon similar efforts undertaken in previous years.

In addition to road improvements, residents living along the Berbice River can expect upgrades to all landing sites (stellings) in the area, further enhancing transport and logistics.

Minister Edghill reaffirmed the government’s dedication to leaving a lasting legacy of transformation in Region 10, stating that the region is receiving its fair share of development initiatives.

Major projects currently underway include the construction of the Mackenzie to Wismar Bridge, the Linden to Mabura Highway, and the Linden to Soesdyke Highway.

These infrastructure developments are expected to significantly improve transportation and economic opportunities in the region.

The government continues to prioritize infrastructure expansion as a critical component of national development, aiming to foster growth and connectivity throughout Guyana.
