Shut-in pensioners to receive cash grant registration assistance- Min. Singh

Provisions will be in place by the end of the week to ensure that shut-in pensioners are registered for the 100,000-dollar cash grant. This was revealed by Minister of Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh.

During an exclusive interview with NCN News, Minister Singh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible Guyanese living in Guyana, register for the $100,000 cash grant.

He noted that beginning this week, interventions will be made to ensure shut-in pensioners are registered for the grant. 

“We’re rolling out a programme where we will visit the shut-ins to assist them with registering. In addition, were are going to be setting up help desks in various strategic locations to help people to register as well. All in the interest of making sure that everybody gets their cash grant,” he said.

Meanwhile, the minister reminded that every eligible citizen should have a bank account, making sure that grants are deposited in a timely manner.

“If you open a bank account you will get your cheques deposited into your bank account within a finite time,” he assured.

Over 85,000 Guyanese have already received the grant.
