Shiloh Asregado and Tehani Munroe Shine in Squash Woodpecker Junior National Championship

The Squash Woodpecker Junior National Championship, held at the Georgetown Club on Camp Street, witnessed outstanding performances from Shiloh Asregado and Tehani Munroe on day five of the competition.

With spots in the national squash team at stake, players from various age categories, ranging from under 11 to under 19, displayed their skills and determination throughout the one-week competition.

In the under 19 girls’ event, Sarfiarh Sumner showcased her dominance by defeating Kaylee Lowe 11-4, 11-6, 6-11, 11-2.

Similarly, in the girls under 17 category, Sumner secured another victory against Lowe. In the girls under 11 division, Tehani Munroe emerged victorious against Mandisa Munroe with a scoreline of 11-1, 11-4, 11-2.

Moving to the boys’ categories, Mohray Bakash faced Joshua Verwey in the under 19 category, resulting in a three-set defeat for Bakash.

Shiloh Asregado and Louis Da Silva displayed exceptional performances in the boys under 17 event, with Da Silva emerging as the winner with scores of 11-7, 11-5, 11-2.

In the boys under 15 category, Justin Ten POW claimed victory against Blake Edwards.

The boys under 13 match between Jacob McDonald and Egan Bulkan was intense, with McDonald ultimately prevailing after five sets.

The tournament, sponsored by E-Net and Woodpecker, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport, showcased the talent and competitive spirit of young squash players in Guyana.
