In a significant development for Albouystown, sixteen contracts totaling more than 182 million Guyanese dollars were formally signed today, marking the commencement of the second phase of the community enhancement initiative.
The project is poised to bring substantial improvements to Independence Boulevard and its adjoining areas, with the construction of critical streets including Victoria Street, Cross Street, and Cross Street east of Hunter Street.
These enhancements aim to bolster the region’s growth and ensure seamless mobility for its residents.
Hon. Deodat Indar, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, explained that these ventures align with President Ali’s vision of extending safer, cleaner, and higher living standards to every Guyanese citizen.
The inaugural phase of the Albouystown Community Enhancement project, initiated at the close of last year, witnessed the awarding of 35 contracts aimed at rehabilitating vital bridges and roads.
