Guyana hosted its second Diaspora Job Fair in Nickerie, Suriname, over the weekend, building on the success of the inaugural fair held in New York earlier this year.

The event, organized by the Government of Guyana in collaboration with the Private Sector Commission, aimed to encourage Guyanese living abroad to return home and contribute to the nation’s rapid development.

The job fair provided a platform to connect diaspora members with opportunities in various sectors, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and leveraging the talents of its people.

Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud, addressing attendees, emphasized the government’s efforts to create inclusive policies that open avenues for all Guyanese to engage in the country’s transformation.

He urged participants to seize the moment and step forward to play their part in Guyana’s growth.

The Nickerie event featured presentations on emerging opportunities in the nation’s booming sectors, from energy to infrastructure development, reinforcing Guyana’s need for skilled individuals to fill critical gaps.

The Diaspora Job Fair initiative underscores the government’s broader vision to unite Guyanese worldwide in building a prosperous future for the nation.
