In a vibrant display of compassion and service, the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Churches in Linden came together to celebrate Global Youth Day, reaching out to the local community with acts of kindness and support.
Held under the theme “Show up in the Cities,” this year’s celebration emphasized the importance of engaging in practical and sustainable initiatives to benefit urban areas.
During the festivities on March 16, various SDA churches across Guyana, including those in Linden, actively participated in community outreach activities.
The Mora Street SDA Church, in particular, extended its celebration to the Linden/Georgetown Park, where they offered a range of charitable services and spiritual guidance to those in need.
Patrena Blair, the Public Relations Officer of the Seventh-Day Adventist Youth Federation, highlighted the significance of Global Youth Day as a staple event on the SDA calendar.
She emphasized the commitment of young people and their leaders to engage in initiatives that make a tangible difference in their communities.
Under the theme “Show up in the Cities,” the focus was on practical projects that address local needs effectively.
The Mora Street SDA Church exemplified this ethos by providing spiritual and health resources, including health checks, health juices, and clothing distribution exercises, to benefit the community.
Blair emphasized the inclusive nature of the outreach efforts, underscoring the SDA’s dedication to serving all members of the community.
Other churches in the area also contributed to the Global Youth Day celebration by offering fruit bowls, organizing blood drives, and initiating various charitable projects, further enriching the outreach efforts.
Through their collective actions, the Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Linden demonstrated their commitment to making a positive impact and spreading compassion within their local community.
