Residents of Region Six, along with various government agencies, participated in the National Clean-up Exercise, focusing on enhancing the environment across several communities.
The initiative was led by Regional Executive Officer Narindra Persaud and Deputy Regional Executive Officer Mary Samwaroo in New Amsterdam.
Persaud emphasized that this clean-up effort is part of a regular, monthly initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness throughout the region.
The participation of pathway workers and local communities was vital to the success of the initiative.
Persaud also highlighted that the clean-up efforts are beginning to influence positive behavioral changes, with a noticeable reduction in litter along roadways.
