The Royal International Hotel has partnered with the Petra Organisation as a major sponsor for the fifth edition of the KFC Goodwill International Schools Football League, set to begin on Sunday, December 15, at the Ministry of Education ground in Georgetown.
This year’s tournament will feature regional teams from Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Guyana, with Clarendon College from Jamaica returning to defend their title after winning the 2023 competition.
The Jamaican school secured the championship by going unbeaten throughout the tournament, ultimately defeating St. Benedict College of Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 in the final.
The involvement of the Royal International Hotel is a significant boost to the tournament, with the hotel’s sponsorship contributing to the event’s growth and development.
The hotel will also provide accommodation for the members of the Clarendon College team during the competition.
Since its inception in 2018, the KFC Goodwill Football League has sought to offer high-level competition for local school football teams, while also providing an opportunity for regional teams to gain exposure.
The inclusion of teams from neighboring countries adds an exciting dimension to the event, further elevating its status in the regional football calendar.
