Approximately 200 individuals benefited from a recent medical outreach organized through a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Georgetown, the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo), and the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The outreach, which aimed to provide reliable and quality health services, took place in Port Mourant, East Berbice-Corentyne.
Various medical services were offered during the outreach, including neurology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatric medicine, and HPV testing.
Chief Neurosurgeon and Head of Neurosurgery at GPHC, Dr. Amrnauth Dukhi, expressed his passion for providing better health services to the community, emphasizing the importance of initiatives like this in reaching those in need.
Dr. Dukhi highlighted the significance of offering neurosurgical services in Guyana and underscored the importance of being of service to the people, particularly in areas like Port Mourant.
President of the Rotary Club of Georgetown, Devindra Kissoon, emphasized the importance of such outreach efforts, noting the direct impact they have on individuals’ lives.
Kissoon highlighted the enriching and heartwarming experience of directly assisting those in need, reaffirming the commitment of the Rotary Club to continue such initiatives.
The collaboration between the Rotary Club of Georgetown, GuySuCo, and GPHC underscores the importance of community partnerships in addressing healthcare needs.
Moving forward, the Georgetown Rotary Club plans to conduct more medical outreaches to further support underserved communities.
