Rose Hall Jammer Secures Title in 1st Pepsi/Mike Parris Boxing Competition

In the first Pepsi/Mike Parris amateur boxing competition of the year, Rose Hall Jammer emerged as the champion boxing gym.

The competition, organized by the Guyana Boxing Association, featured 10 fights and took place at the Andrew ‘Six Head’ Lewis gym in Albouystown.

Rose Hall Jammer claimed the top spot, outperforming Pace and Power Boxing Gym, with Ken Harvey from P&P awarded the title of Best Boxer.

Gregory Cort of Rosehall Jammer received the accolade of Best Coach.

The participating gyms included Bayley Boxing Gym, Andrew ‘Six Head’ Lewis, and Forgotten Youth Foundation.

The U16 School Boys and Girls Boxing Championships showcased promising talent, and the Technical Director, Terrence Poole, expressed satisfaction with the strong start to the competition.

Referee judge Arthur Scipio was recognized as the Best Official during the event.

The association, led by National Coach Lennox Daniels, Technical Director Terrence Poole, and Cuban Coach Francisco Roldan, aims to provide a high-performance structure to prepare boxers for international competitions.

In 2023, the association successfully organized the 18th edition of the nursery-level championship.
