A significant step was taken toward the finalization of Rockstone Village’s land title during a government-led community engagement held on Wednesday in Region 10.

The event, led by Ministers Vickram Bharrat, Pauline Sukhai, and Oneidge Walrond, aims to move the village closer to receiving its official certificate of title.

Minister Bharrat emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to the process and assured residents that the government remains a dedicated partner in both the land title finalization and the village’s future development efforts.

The ministers reassured the community that their support would continue as the process moves forward.

The Toshao of Rockstone, Deino Williams, expressed optimism about the long-awaited intervention, noting that the land title issue had been ongoing since the village first applied in 1994.

After 27 years of waiting, Williams said the community was now hopeful that the matter would soon be resolved, especially following the ministers’ visit.

The finalization of the land title will allow Rockstone Village to legally recognize its land, offering opportunities for better planning and development.

This recognition will contribute to the community’s ability to strategize for sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.

The government’s support is expected to continue as Rockstone progresses through the final stages of the title issuance process.
