The much-anticipated Rockstone Fish Extravaganza is set to return this October for its “3.0 edition,” promising an exciting two-day celebration filled with sports, cultural activities, and fun.

The event will take place on October 19 and 20 in the picturesque village of Rockstone, which is preparing to welcome hundreds of visitors from across Guyana and beyond.

The festival will feature a variety of activities designed for all ages. Day one will primarily focus on sporting events, with a highlight being a football competition against St. Cuthbert’s Mission, as well as a volleyball tournament.

Attendees can also look forward to camping, bonfire gatherings, and cultural presentations, including traditional ring games.

The excitement will ramp up on day two with fishing competitions, where participants will have the chance to win prizes for the largest and most catches.

As the day progresses, the atmosphere will shift to a lively concert featuring local artists, including the highly talked-about Guyanese singer, Carlvin Burnette.

The Rockstone Fish Extravaganza was established in response to the absence of the fish festival in 2022 and aims to stimulate economic activity within the village.

The event also showcases Rockstone’s potential as an eco-tourism destination, further highlighting the community’s cultural and natural assets.

As the festival approaches, the Rockstone Village Council is optimistic about the event’s success and the opportunity to promote local culture and unity.
