The communities of Parfait Harmonie, West Minister, Onderneeming, and Lust-en-Rust in Region Three are set to see all internal and main roads completed by December, according to Public Works Minister Juan Edghill.
Following a recent inspection, Minister Edghill noted that construction progress ranges from 10 to 55 percent, with works including 68 internal roads and 28 kilometers of main access roads, all managed by the Public Works ministry’s Special Projects Unit.
Edghill confirmed that most contracts, which have a three-month duration, are expected to conclude by mid-December.
Additionally, 30 more contracts are anticipated to cover remaining roads once existing concrete installations cure within the necessary 21-day period.
The projects involve small contractors from Region 3, aiming to foster local involvement and employment.
The roadworks entail scarification, asphaltic finishing, and road shoulder clearing.
Main road construction involves two Special Projects Unit teams focused on scarification and asphalt application.
This extensive effort is expected to significantly enhance accessibility and quality of life for residents across the region.
