Road Safety Month 2023 Gears Up in Region 10 with Road Rally and Exhibition

The Regional Police Division 10 Traffic Department is actively engaging in a series of initiatives as part of the observance of Road Safety Month 2023.

Under the theme “Road safety is not a slogan. It is a way of life. Respect the road,” the department, led by Inspector Sherwin Henry, is placing a strong emphasis on awareness and sensitization in Region 10.

The commencement of the month’s activities featured a Spelling Bee competition and a series of traffic lectures conducted at various schools across the region.

Inspector Henry, outlining the department’s plans, highlighted the upcoming Road Safety exhibition.

One of the key events scheduled is a Road Safety rally set to take place on November 24, 2023.

The rally is a collaborative effort involving the Region 10 Education Department, the Region 10 road safety committee, and the Traffic Department.

Schools in the region are actively encouraged to participate in this initiative.

As part of the rally, prizes will be awarded in various categories, including the best banner, best chant, largest group, and others, fostering healthy competition and encouraging active engagement in promoting road safety.

The overarching goal of these activities is to instill a culture of responsible and safe road usage among the residents of Region 10.

By combining education, awareness, and community involvement, the Regional Police Division 10 Traffic Department aims to contribute to a safer and more conscientious road environment.

As Road Safety Month unfolds, residents can anticipate further impactful initiatives geared towards enhancing road safety practices and reducing accidents on the region’s roads.
