The Ministry of Public Works, through its Special Projects Unit, will soon begin comprehensive road rehabilitation in Northeast La Penitence.
This initiative, part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, follows a community engagement led by Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill, where residents shared their appreciation for the upcoming improvements.
The project aims to address the community’s aging infrastructure, including deteriorated roads and bridges.
During his walkthrough, Minister Edghill discussed the project’s scope with local councilors, emphasizing the commitment to upgrading the entire road network within the next three weeks.
This upgrade is expected to mirror similar recent projects completed in nearby communities, such as Lodge, Albouystown, and Rasville, where infrastructure was significantly enhanced.
Residents, including Matthew Bristol and Alwyn Moore, expressed gratitude for the government’s attention to their community’s needs, recognizing the project as a step forward in development.
The upgrades planned for Northeast La Penitence reflect the Ministry’s ongoing dedication to enhancing local infrastructure and addressing resident concerns across Georgetown.
