By Shawnette Fiedtkou

Commander of the Regional Police Division 10, Superintendent Guy Nurse, has outlined the division’s commitment to implementing various strategies aimed at significantly reducing crime and accidents in 2024.

Ending 2023 on a positive note, the regional division reported a 13% reduction in crime and an 18% decrease in traffic accidents.

Superintendent Nurse expressed optimism for further reductions in the current year through the deployment of several targeted measures.

One key initiative involves an increase in police presence across communities within the region, with a particular focus on combating drug-related crimes.

Additionally, efforts will be intensified to address traffic-related offenses and enhance road safety.

Superintendent Nurse emphasized the importance of the Smart Country initiative, which is expected to serve as an additional tool for crime prevention and detection.

The implementation of this initiative is eagerly anticipated by the division, as it is projected to bolster crime-fighting capabilities and facilitate more effective crime-solving methods.

The Regional Police Division 10 remains dedicated to ensuring the security and safety of residents within its jurisdiction.

With a focus on proactive measures and community engagement, the division aims to create a conducive environment for sustainable development and well-being.
