The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Six organized a vibrant Phagwah program, fostering unity among staff members, councillors, and stakeholders of diverse religious backgrounds.

The celebration, held at the RDC Compound, featured a variety of performances, including poems, dances, modeling, and heartfelt Phagwah messages from staff members, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the attendees.

Trophies were awarded to staff members who delivered the most captivating cultural presentations, adding an element of friendly competition to the festivities.

During his address, Regional Chairman David Armogan expressed gratitude for the religious tolerance prevalent in Guyana and emphasized the country’s commitment to celebrating the cultural heritage of all its citizens.

He highlighted Phagwah as a time of unity and love, transcending differences in race, religion, and ethnicity.

Regional Executive Officer Narindra Persaud echoed these sentiments, underscoring the importance of unity and the symbolic victory of good over evil embodied by the Phagwah festival.

Deputy Regional Executive Officer Mary Samaroo, along with department heads, extended warm Phagwah greetings to all Guyanese, further promoting inclusivity and camaraderie among attendees.

The event served as a testament to Guyana’s rich cultural tapestry and its dedication to fostering harmony and mutual respect among its diverse population.
