In a bid to enhance hospitality and tourism services in the region, the Region Ten Tourism Committee (RTTC) recently organized a Customer Service Training session in Linden.
The RTTC collaborated with the Greater Guyana Initiative to host the training, which aimed to equip front desk operators, business owners, and customer service representatives with essential skills.
Facilitated by RTTC members Rawl Dundas and Adrian Boston, the training was themed “Preparing you to excel during Linden Town Week and beyond.”
Adrian Boston, the Secretary of the RTTC, emphasized the importance of providing participants with the necessary tools to deliver exceptional customer service.
With the upcoming Linden Town Week celebrations expected to attract an influx of tourists, Boston highlighted the training as a crucial refresher for individuals to enhance their customer service skills.
During the training, participants were exposed to various topics, including meeting the fundamental needs of customers, changing mindsets, and improving communication skills.
Rawle Dundus, Vice Chairman of the RTTC, announced plans for additional training sessions over the next few months aimed at further improving hospitality and tourism services in the region.
These sessions will cover aspects such as business development and tour guide training across various sectors.
To ensure the effectiveness of the training, Dundas mentioned that the RTTC will assess and grade service providers.
Additionally, plans are in place to expand the training program to remote communities like Rockstone and Kwakwani.
As the Region Ten Tourism Committee continues its efforts to bolster tourism and hospitality services, the Customer Service Training initiative marks a significant step towards achieving excellence in service delivery.
