The Chairman of the Region Six Regional Democratic Council (RDC), David Armogan, has expressed concern over the low turnout at the planned monthly statutory meetings.

In response to this issue, Chairman Armogan has announced that strict measures will be implemented to address the problem.

Chairman Armogan emphasized the importance of elected councillors’ contributions and attendance at the monthly statutory and committee meetings.

He stressed that councillors have a duty to represent the interests of the people in their respective geographical areas.

During these meetings, councillors have the opportunity to voice their concerns and work collectively to find solutions to various challenges faced by the region.

Chairman Armogan suggested the possibility of reverting to a system where each councillor is required to submit a monthly report on their tasks.

Additionally, measures will be put in place to ensure that councillors’ stipends are distributed at the statutory meetings, encouraging attendance on the designated days.

Furthermore, consideration will be given to declaring a councillor’s seat vacant if there are three consecutive absences, unless a plausible excuse is provided.

Chairman Armogan’s proactive approach aims to strengthen the participation and engagement of elected councillors, ultimately advancing the work of the region for the betterment of its residents.
