The New Amsterdam Recreational Park in Region Six came alive with the spirit of the season on Wednesday during the Regional Democratic Council’s Annual Christmas Village Light-Up and Toy Distribution.
Thousands of residents gathered for the festive event, which has become a cherished tradition in the region.
Minister of Finance and Public Service, Dr. Ashni Singh, delivered Christmas greetings, reflecting on the holiday’s spiritual and celebratory significance.
He highlighted that Christmas represents a time for joy, family, and community togetherness.
The Regional Chairman of Region Six, David Armogan, also addressed the gathering, commending the government’s efforts in promoting not only Christmas but all holidays across the country in a grand manner.
The highlight of the evening was Minister Singh officially lighting the Christmas Village, transforming the park into a vibrant display of holiday cheer.
Children attending the event received toys and other goodies, adding to the joy of the celebration and ensuring the spirit of giving was at the heart of the occasion.
The event demonstrated the collaborative efforts of local authorities and the government in spreading festive cheer and fostering community spirit during the holiday season.
