The Regional Democratic Council of Region 6 and the New Amsterdam Hospital celebrated Christmas Day with a heartwarming distribution of hampers to newborns and their mothers, marking a special occasion for families in the region.

Among the notable arrivals was a pair of twin boys born to Ashley Hinds, who was initially expecting her babies in the new year.

The twins made their surprise entrance on Christmas Day, bringing extra joy to Hinds and her family.

Hinds expressed her happiness, reflecting on the unexpected timing of their birth and her gratitude for the care provided by the hospital staff.

By early Christmas morning, the hospital had already delivered four babies, with more expected as the day continued.

Regional Health Officer, Dr. Vineshri Khirodhar, shared that the hospital was anticipating the birth of 10 to 12 babies on Christmas Day, with additional deliveries expected from neighboring hospitals, including Port Mourant, Mibikuri, and Skeldon.

The holiday season was made even more special as mothers and newborns received festive hampers, symbolizing the community’s support and well-wishes during this joyous time.
